Pros and Cons (好處及壞處/正反意見)

pro 和 con 皆來自拉丁語, 取其字首
pro 指的是 : in favor of -----贊成者(贊成的那方)
con 指的是: in opposition to ( against...)----反對者(反對那方)

In my opinion, I think there are cons and pros in using technology in class.

Pros:

1. Nowadays, computer has become a useful tool for people to get knowledge.
People can also learn a lot of thing throught it.

2.People who live far from coutry or rural area will be able to attend the class through
computers.

However, there are also cons of using it.

1. Students may feel bored when they sit in front of the computer for a long time.

2.When it comes to discussing or solving problems, face to face is better than using
e-mail.
3.Some may play games on the computer that teacher may not be able to discover.

No matter how, teacher won't be replaced by computer. Computer is a tool that people
use to gain information.

Phonics teaching

Phonics teaching has been popular nowadays.
Phonics is a kind of pronounce that letters corresponds to the sound.
It is also a kind of natually pronounced.
It has been used by many teacher in teaching students recently.

What is mindmap?

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea. It is used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing.
It is an image-centered diagram that represents semantic or other connections between portions of information. By presenting these connections in a radial, non-linear graphical manner, it encourages a brainstorming approach to any given organizational task, eliminating the hurdle of initially establishing an intrinsically appropriate or relevant conceptual framework to work within.
A mind map is similar to a semantic network or cognitive map but there are no formal restrictions on the kinds of links used.
The elements are arranged intuitively according to the importance of the concepts and they are organized into groupings, branches, or areas. The uniform graphic formulation of the semantic structure of information on the method of gathering knowledge, may aid recall of existing memories.

Why use webquests?

Podcast ((iPOD broadCAST) is an audio broadcast that has been converted to an MP3 file or other audio file format for playback in a digital music player or computer. The way of creating Podcast is similar to the way of creating a blog. The difference is that podcast uses MP3 format intergrating the technique of RSS and downloadable from the internet. It is a kind of blog which uses sound to replace words. Using the RSS 2.0 syndication format, podcasts are made available to subscribers just like news feeds. Podcasting Anything and EverythingPodcasting is not just for ongoing broadcasts, rather the term is used for recording anything and everything to be played back in a digital player. "Sound seeing" is the audio recording of a person's experiences when traveling. Because it can be played with the ipod or other portable MP3 player, it becomes more and more popular nowadays.

My First time is also my first try

Well, actually, this is my first time to establish my own blog.

Actually, I established my blog is because I took a course named CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) this semester. In the class, students were required to apply a Gmail account, so there I am. I have to say that I've quite enjoyed this course so far because I've got what I didn't know before, such as web 2.0 and Google talk. Also, I believe taking this course would be beneficial for me because I would know more about computer-related gadgets, information and knowledge.

Nowadays, computer media has become a necessary tool. I hope that I could learn a lot of knowledge from this course and make good use of it. Therefore, I am looking forward to obtain diverse brand-new teaching materials from CALL！
